some do it this way, others i have heard is sit on the bike and close your eyeswith your hands out in a comfortable position. then do this measuring tip of the video.

ya that's bs. I actually got the bars assuming they would fit on the stock risers and realized they risers were for fatter bars so I just got regular risers that fit. There is a little flex because of the rubber bushings but they work just fine.

how you can put on 16 inch apes without wire extensions would not be easy when I have 14 inch apes and I need them for my 2010 wide glide.

I run 16” apes without wire extensions. Just pulled the extra loom out from under the neck and re-routed the looms. Pretty simple, however, I also run 3/4” risers.. I suspect your rise height plays a big part in the equation...
