Default BAD&G Battery Bag

Just got a BAD&G battery bag for a Dyna and thought I'd post a quick review in case anyone else is thinking about it.

Harley DYNA Square Battery Cover Bag

I got black leather with an interior pocket and chrome quick release buckle. It's a good looking bag. Simple, clean design and well-made. The leather is about 1/8" thick, maybe a little thicker. The chrome quick release is nice and I recommend that option. I'm glad I got the interior pocket as a place for registration and insurance card, but others might not need/want it.

The size is advertised at 8" wide by 6" high and 2.5" deep. Mine is 8.5" x 6" x 3" and is just big enough to hold 3 soda cans. Good size for glasses, cellphone, gloves, bungee cords, etc. While it fits exactly over the battery cover, it could be a little taller - 7 or 8" high. The extra height would let you stand a water bottle in it. It could get away with being 1/2 to 1" wider, I think. Not much, but it might be the difference needed when trying to get something to fit.

While the height and width could have been a little bigger, the depth is fine. You can get it with another 1", but I'd recommend against it as it would start to get in the way at stop lights.

All in, a very nice alternative to a fork bag.

Does the inside of your right thigh make contact with that bag or the buckle?

I was wondering if there might be some chafing of your inside thigh during a longer ride?

Yes, you leg will hit it, there is nothing you can do. Funny thing is, I was riding for a few hours yesterday, every time I stop at a light, I crush my bag with my right leg, as soon as I ride at hwy speed, the wind actually blow it up to shape. Great!

Haven't ridden with it yet. If I am sitting on the bike in riding position, it's fine. BTW, I have forward controls, mid controls may differ. If I'm on the bike at a standstill, my leg does hits it. Nothing horrible, but its there. If it were much bigger, it would be irritating. That's why I suggested not to get the extra 1" depth he offers.

My leg touches the bag only when I stop, I don't hit nothing while I am riding, all good!
