I went to pep boys and bought a cig lighter and mounted it in the left side cover on my 09 ultra classic,,,put it in a piece of cut off inner-tube just in case it should get wet,,ran the wires under the tank and up the bars,,,if your plug end on your gps doesn't have a fuse,,make sure you wire in a in-line fuse also...

My mate just put a high quality weather proof cig lighter socket in his speed boat to power acessories for under $15

I bought a chrome cigarette lighter socket and a couple sheet metal screws at the auto parts store and mounted it on the aft side of my battery box and ran the wires up under the seat. Probably not the best place for a gps port, but for charging devices at the end of the ride it's great. Cheap and still working after 9 years.
