Default fork bushings

getting ready to put front forks back together after pc i know i have to replace the seals but should i replace the fork bushings 12000 miles on bike

Might as well. They are relatively cheap and easy to replace. Even if the tephlon coating is intact and no shiny metal is showing through, I would still do it. You already have them apart so now is the time in my opinion.

are u talking about the small crush washers if so yes, you can get replacements at ace for like 15c each i have a ton of them in my shop and just swap them when i do fork changes

When I recently did the for seals on my street bob the teflon was worn through on the bushings on one side. As others have said the bushings are cheap (like 3 to 5 dollars each) so I decided while I was there to do it. As JRK mentions, don't forget new crush washers for under the bolt at the bottom of the tube.

As you probably know, its part of the rebuild kit, BUT.........I had two kits and one was missing a crush washer, after the office girl questioned whether I bought both kits there (along with $1000 in other parts) they DID have one in stock so they are available - don't know the number though.

They're copper crush washers. Getting them through HD dealer is a waste of money. Hit up a shop that works in dirt bikes and they will have them in a bunch of sizes. I couldnt find them at a hardware store and HD ordered the wrong thing three times.

bobber they are just small copper washers that go on the lowers that bolt though the lower and into the fork damper if you dont have that you will have leaky forks
