any recommendations on plugs not driving to harley today. i have advanced, autozone, and o reilys
My Camaro that used to do that when it was sitting cold...it was running lean. After I ran it a bit it was fine. Maybe that's what's going on with your scoot.
I'm thinking it's fuel related because if it was spark, I don't think it fire at all would it? Keep us posted.
OP: that's exactly what would happen on my old carb EVO if I forgot to turn the fuel valve on - would run for 5 sec then shut off when the fuel line was emptied. Possible you have fuel supply/fuel pump issues. Hope you get it worked out.
yah im leaning toward fuel pump! i appreiciate everyones input and ill get back to yall in a couple weeks since im going out of town and cant get it looked at until then.
Have you tied taking the PCV 5 off and seeing if it runs ok without it?
I think it's the PC-V. It runs fine "when it runs" like you said, for 5 seconds.
Spark plugs were obviously fine. If it still does it after taking the PC-V out of the circuit, check your in-tank fuel filter, it might be gunked up and check the in-tank fuel hose for a pin hole leak. But my money is on the fuel tuner.
I had the EXACT same thing happen to me yesterday! It had a list of things I was going over in my head (don't have a tuner, BTW) and I decided to check the battery terminals. The positive cable was loose (didn't have it tight enough after replacing the battery last month).
Snugged it down, and it as ran perfect since.
Hope is it so simple for you.
Good luck
ill take the pcv out and get back to you guys......hope its not that. i hooked the laptop up to the bike yesterday (when all this was going on) and it would send maps and read temps, throttle, rpms just like normal.
