i have a 07 street bob that needs a new tank. i found a guy that says he has a dealer take off? it fits a 08-12 fxdb mine is a 07 fxdb i didnt think they changed the set up on the tanks or am i wrong ?
The 09 FXDB primed tank part # is 61593-04A, the 04 means it has been the same tank since 2004, so if it is an FXDB tank it will bolt right on yours.
Not quite - the A means there was some change after 04. Most of the changes indicated by a trailing A are minor, however.
Not an issue with 07/08s but the other thing to bear in mind is that earlier years had both carb and FI tanks and they won't interchange without more work than is needed. They'll fit the frame, but not the fuel system.

Yes quite, the letter means a very minor change that does not affect fitment, could be a simple cosmetic change. If the change is enough to affect fitment they give it a new part number.
As far as carb vs EFI there is zero difference in the tanks, the only difference is the guts and petcock, you can easily verify this by part number.
thanks for all the replys.. I just got off the phone with the dealer and they confirmed that it would bolt on but the dash was different....dang it guess I'll keep riding with a dent.. Again thanks for your info..
i talked to the parts guy at the dealer he said it was a no go and couldn't give a reason why it wouldn't work other then the dash was different.. i figure those guys should know what they are talking about guess i probly shouldn't believe them... makes me wonder now maybe i should take the hour drive to look at the tank..
