So right now i have a drag bar set up on my 06 bob. i bought it this way so not exactly sure about the setup. i believe they may be a 3-5" riser with a ppull back. i dont know if ther cables had been shortened for these or not. does not look like there is much slack.
im buying 12" chubby outlawz and i need to know if the cable and everything will still fit on these? with a 1" riser already purchased. do i go shorter and buy the 10" bars" i really dont have the money to spend on new cables unless i can find a fellow bob owner who has used stock cables willing to sell because they will bolt right up from what i understand to 12" bars.
so just wondering what i should do?? look at the picture and see if you can tell anything on there?
from what ive been hearing, you will need longer cables.it is easy enough to check, just follow the cables to the bottom and see if it was looped somewhere.you said theres no slack so if your right, putting smaller risers is only going to gain a couple inches.you add that to your bars and your back to where you started, not gaining hight. wires should be fine because most likly the previous owner just tucked the slack under the tank.check the breakline is there extra hanging around.
also was told that wide glide cables will work.
maybe someone can chime in to clarify some of your cable issues.i just bought the burly cable/wire kit for 16" apes so my research was on cable, wires, risers, bars and relocating signals. ive got a 10 WG
good luck
I am going to be installing fat bob risers and bars on my street bob. Going to need shorter cables. Mine has the stock mini ape and cables now. My cables should work on your bike if you are interested. PM me if interested. I may can use your cables as well.
