I recently bought a bell revolver, modular and I put about 500 miles on it so far and i really like it a lot, but its also my first FF. Its pretty noisy but not much worse than my normal half helmet. Ive always wanted to try one but didnt want to spend the big bucks for something i might not like..... i saw this one for 100 bucks on motorcycle super store and had to try it, the other bell helmets i have i love also.

I got the black one with the white rally stripes , got the extra tinted lens 35-40 bucks ? i think and the 10$ chin guard. The dark lens is awesome and so is the chin guard. The best part of it IMO is that you can flip the front up so you can talk to someone or if you get a little uncomfortable in tight confines.

Its a good bit heavier and bigger than my other helmets but i recently rode all day in the mountains ,350 miles, and my neck or head never bothered me, seems to be balanced well and very aerodynamic.

If anyone is on the fence about getting one, the bell revolver is a good one to try, it should be very safe since its a bell and for 100$ it cant be beat

I didnt plan on wearing it ALL THE TIME but i might just do that.

good luck

jeremy

I have used ff, 3/4, DOT half helmets, novelty half helmets, and I would say its purely a personal preference. I will wear the ff when it rains just to help with visibility and comfort. I think if its something you're interested in, by all means wear it. You can never be too safe!

Pinlock inserts are awesome. I have a clear and a tinted. I carry both with me and can switch them up if it gets dark out. They are a lot easier to carry then a second face shield. Plus they absolutely do not fog.

I wear a HJC IS-Max (FF Modular) most of the time. In the middle of the summer, I switch over to a HJC CL-31 (3/4) with the HD half shield.

What do you carry the other insert in so it doesnt get scratched or damaged? I like mine, great in morning but the sun is killing me on the way home. I wish they made something for my glasses so they didnt fog up.

Well, after reading this and other threads on FF helmets and helmets in general, I went and tried some modulars on yesterday. No doubt, a FF will provide the most safety but personally? I just can't wear one, I don't think.
It's not looks I'm concerned with at all, it's how they made me feel.

I tried the good ones on too, like the shoei, the aria(sp.?), and a scorpian.
Prices ranged from $300-900. When I put them on, I felt so encapsulated that i knew i couldn't hang with any of them.

To you FF guys, is there a period where you get used to them or were they ok from jump street when you originally put them on? Because for me, all of them kinda freaked me out as they seemed way, way confining.

For me it was like a seat belt, after awhile it just became natural, however, if you are closterphobic (spell) then I am not sure. FF arn't for everyone, and my buddies ride my a$$ for it, but I have kids so ya know I don't care what they think.
