Default Tail/Brake Light Wiring

I recently put a rocket bob fender and headwind turn signals on my 2011 Streetbob but when I turned the bike back on the turn signals and brake light are always on. I used the OEM plugs and on each two wire turn signal I spliced the blue and purple wire together and the other wire(black) was connected to the black wire on the harness.

The same with the brake light I spliced the two wire im guessing front and back together and connected the black.

Thank you for your help

Blue wire is running light...purple is turn signal. If you wire the blue wire and purple wire together your turn signal will always be on.

I'm not sure what you did...pictures would help. Sounds like you have three wire signals and are trying to wire them in place of your two wire stock signals? Did you wire the blue and purple wires from the signal into the blue wire in the stock harness???

Ok I called the headwinds and yes the problem is the 2 wire LED lamps are self ground so I need to disconnect the black wire and just use the blue and purple wire to connect to the turn signals as far as the brake light goes im guessing it is something similar Ill give it a shot tomorrow Ill get some pictures up tomorrow too.

Okay, that makes more sense. I had some lights like that on my Sportster that were self grounding.

I'd work on the turn signals and get them wired right first. Might find that fixes all your problems. Viel Gluck!
