Kelly blue book lists a 2011 Street Bob in "excellent" condition with 3,300 miles as retailing for $12,300 in Los Angeles. Obviously you have much higher miles so that would know a bit off...and only you can say how close to "excellent" it appears to be. With a stage one IF all else is solid I'd say $10k+ is not way off base for a listing price in this part of the country. SoCal economy is nowhere near as bad off as other parts of the country right now due to our beloved/maligned entertainment industry. I say test drive it and if you like it and can verify maintenance, make an offer.

I was in the same situation and shopped everywhere, private and dealerships looking for a Fat Bob. For not much more than used I ended up with a new '12 Fat Bob for $14.8K from Simi HD.

I think in your case for that milage I would start at $9K-$9.2K and ease my way up to walking away at $10K flat as long as they throw in a 5 year warranty at the $10K price. Old Road had a Rocker that was modified for $13K the dropped to under $12K, gone now so you get the idea. Right now they have a new '11 Denim White FB that they will let go for $13K and when I was shopping they had several new Street Bobs under that price.

Bob is awesome. The engine is really peppy, revs lower than my Nightster and it soaks up bumps better. It does vibrate at idle but i don't feel it at highway speed. Im suprised how nimble the bike is. Will definitly leave my Nighty behind in the twisties. I'm going to make the deal this weekend. I've go them down to $10k even and im going to trade my Nightster. Im going to miss that bike but its time to move on. I'll try not to let sentiment cloud my judgement when i negotiate trade in value with them.

Congrats! Post up some pics when you get it. I was going to get a Nightster but after riding both I decided on the Street Bob. You won't regret it I love mine.

Street Bob has a bit more lean angle than a Nightster does and with the 96" engine, about the same power to weight ratio but will do a lot better on the freeway with that 6th gear. If you're wanting a bit bigger bike, you're going to love the SB.

OP--Good for you. $10k is OK, but make sure they allow you enough for your Nightster. (Two years ago I bought my '09 for $9k w/ 6600 miles on it, from the original owner.)

It won't cost the dealer anything to offer you 10% off on parts and accessories, if you request that, now. Be certain to get the original keys, fobs, owners manual. And order the service and parts manuals, whether you will do your own maintenance, or not. Another frequent freebie is the next scheduled service (to bring clients back). These are things to keep in mind to use as ammo, once you meet resistance or counteroffers during your negotiations, which can save you a bunch of $, if you use your head. You might want to consider adding an extended warranty, at this time, especially because of the high mileage; this is another item you can negotiate.

Take a very discerning look at the bike, from every angle, and examine every single element that pertains to safety, beginning w/ the tires; if these show any signs of wear, negotiate their replacement, now. Then take a critical look at all cosmetics. You would do well to photograph everything, in detail, so you could later take time to REALLY scrutinize the bike, in addition to documenting everything before you take possession. Ask dealer for a copy of the work order for pre-sales prep, so you can see exactly what has recently been done.

Faults/shortcomings you can't live with may not show up until you've had some saddle time, but now's the time to get the dealer to change the bars or seat, or add the throttle rocker, charger pigtail, or ...

Buena suerte.

That's not bad. Don't let the mileage scare you. If it was well cared for and they have some type of service records to prove it there's no issue.
