I've always thought those types of pipes, ones with all kinds of wicked turns and curves, look good on a Softail or chopper. I don't care for them on any bike with shocks like the Dynas or Sportys. But that is just me.
I emailed them awhile back, just to see what they do. They got back to me fairly quickly, in about a day or two. I had a question about the O2 sensors for my 06 Bob, which these pipes do not have the bungs for the O2 sensors.
Overall I really like the pipe and they are right on budget!!
Thanks for all the opinions. I'm looking more for looks and sound. The bike is fast enough and really what's a 5 HP gain on pipes that perform. Plus all the people I ride with, ride @ 60 MPH because they all have Heritage Softails with highway pegs and nice comfortable seats so i just lug around. By the time I'm done riding with them I'm mentally strained from all the holding back on the Thottle I have to do. It takes a long time going 60 MPH to get from place to place. Atleast if I had loud pipes I could stay awake.
Zyklon: I didn't see any performance specs and for the price I doubt they spend any time or money to do a Dyno test. I'm sure they are better than stock since they don't have baffles yet since are stepped they still have Backpressure unlike some of the Santee shortees I was looking at.
JimiB: Since the link didn't work for you American Classic motors makes them looks like a small shop to me.
I think the oil stick is an issue for me too. Looks like they are made for a softail and are being marketed for Dyna. Many Softtail pipes fit the Dyna but the issue is still the same oil cap. I also agree the other post yes it take 5 mintues to remove to change the oil but that's a pain in the **** to just check or top off. Others have quoted me $1000 to make me some pipes kind of like these but with out the oil stick issue. Seems a little much.
