After reading about the pulley bolts shearing I decided to replace mine, going to Home Depot get grade 8, 7/16-14-2 1/2 bolts, jack up my 07 WG, replace bolts, use blue locktite, torque to 65 ft. lbs., am I missing anything? TKS.
Why are you replacing? If it is not broke, leave them be. The problem with them comes from improper install, it does not just happen on it's own.
^ What he said. Why are you replacing them? You only replace them when you remove the pulley and reinstall. And I think the HD bolts are grade 8 if i'm not mistaken.
as long as you have not RE used them you are fine... if they are still in from factory you are fine... the issue is re using the same bolts and re tq them down, then they sheer

If I'm not mistaken....this is coming from someone with first hand experience of having the bolts shear!!!
Bottom line: Don't re-use the bolts. I don't have my manual in front of me but I'm as I recall, when you torque these bolts that you are supposed to torque them down and then back them off slightly and then re-torque.
I put a black line on mine so I can check them to see if they are coming loose. Not any help if they shear though.

Bottom line: Don't re-use the bolts. . . . .
That's the way I've understood it. They are grade 8 from OEM, but the manual says "not" to reuse them, even though some folks I know do. I don't, nor do I reuse riser bolts. Any time I pull them I replace um with new grade 8's just the way I am.
Some models may require a retorque procedure like Eric said, but don't remember my 07 Bob manual saying anything other than to not reuse the bolts.
