Why is adding a 2nd speedo so important? I would add a good amp, quality speakers and a satellite radio. After 12 years on the FXDL, I find having the radio on the RG is pretty awesome.
You have a 5 inch Speedo already. I agree with bigdaddy33, use the fairing for it's intended purpose: something to attach a windshield to and carry a sound system. Lots of speakers on eBay.
Bigdaddy and AFMM you'll note that in the first post on the thread I commented that while wearing my full coverage helmet you cannot see the tank mounted gauge without looking down thus taking my eyes off the road so in addition to filling up one of the gauge holes in the Road Glide fairing, as an extra measure of safety I decided to mount a second one that is easy to catch at a glimpse without taking my eyes off the road.
The neat thing about a GPS driven one is all that is needed is a 12V power supply and the opening which the fairing has. Personally I have no interest in a Ambiant Air Temp gauge or a clock because, well if I'm cold I'll know it and if I'm warm I'll know it and that is about all the accuracy I need regarding temperature. As far as what time it is, well day light or night pretty much tells me all I need to know except when I'm hungry I'll know it's meal time...LOL!
Now seriously I would like to mount an Oil temperature gauge however the bung in the oil pan on a Dyna 103 is about .25" behind the kickstand crossmember so it is pretty useless although I am looking at the oil filter housing to see if there is an aftermarket oil cooler mount that offers a spare bung that I can access for this purpose and if so I will consider dropping one of the other guages like the tach or just add a bar mount. Another consideration would be to use a multi-purpose fairing mount that I saw for a GPS which also has a gauge mount or fabricate one out of .375" 6061 aluminum.

Ok, you guys convinced me. I found an audio system with an iPod interface that controls the iPod on the head unit at http://www.cycleaccessorystore.com/B...kit-98-now.htm
when you upgrade to the recommended Sony DSX-MS60 Marine unit. The price is right at only $480. I would only need to fabricate up a mount to attach to the Cyclevisions fairing mount which would be easy to do.
I also dropped off the Road Glide fairing to be painted this morning and should have it back by the weekend. Now I just need to order the gauges and decide on the GPS unit and mount.
