The jury is still out concerning their longevity, but the initial reviews on ride/handling have been good. I'd like to see some more feedback since I'll need to replace my OE Scorchers next month for an upcoming trip in May. I've narrowed my choice down to the ME 880's or Commanders. I'll probably opt for the Michelins even if the mileage feedback isn't available when I have to make a move.

Just put them on. Initially, they ride smoother than my Metzeler's did.

$247 shipped for both tires from Motorcycle-Superstore: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...Rear-Tire.aspx

4000 miles and no sign of wear ? Regardless of whether that's front or rear, Id be a bit concerned that the tire is too darn hard and would be slippery in the rain or hard cornering.

In fact just last week I installed a Commander 2 on my FXDC front to replace the sorry Dunlop GT501 (dont get those). I have a problem now after mounting the Commander 2. At high speeds (90+) I sometimes get a oscillation in the handlebars. It feels like my fairing is upsetting the apple cart with wind induced forces. It is not exactly a wobble but more of a buffeting feel.

The 501 did not do that but it was severely worn at 4000 miles. Ive gotta check this out more. Maybe I need to tighten my head bearings.

Im thinking the fresh round profile of the new tire is more easily disturbed from its tracking. My rake has been steepened on this bike but that was true with the old tire too.

this tire was designed around handling in and out of the rain. i dont plan on getting the front tire, looks to funky for my taste. im sticking to the scorcher up front. im more concerned with the performance of the rear. it looks good and according to revzilla it performs good too.
