i have v&h bigshots and they are pretty loud (to me) im starting to like the 2 into 1 v&h propipe. havent heard it in person but from those that have it like it.
FYI - I've heard a few Pro Pipe equipped bikes and while they sound good, quiet they are not. I didn't want a loud pipe either, did some research and chose the Samson which turned out to be a good choice because it has a nice mellow tone without being too loud, a liken it to a warmed over V-8 with a cat back exhaust - you can tell something is under the hood but doesn't annoy the neighbors. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being stock and 10 some straight drag pipes I would rate the two as follows:
Samson - 3
Pro Pipe - 8
From: Back in the Good Ole USA. South Carolina to be exact.
I had Rush Slip ons w/2 inch baffles. I didn't like the tone or volume. Too boomy and no crack to em. I had a variety of pipes/mufflers. The best sounding I ever had (next to open drag pipes) were BUB Chamber Maids. Currently I run a D&D FatCat.

Personally, I like the way the Fatbob/Wideglide exhausts look. I see lotsa folks switch 'em and I wonder why but, of course, to each his own. In fact, I'm putting on some '08 (catless) Fatbob pipes on my Streetbob and I'm going with the SE slipons 'cause I'm burned out on loud pipes. Going to set this up with a PC and Stage1 from FuelMoto. I have a set of V&H Big Radius 2in2s that will be available soon. They look great but they aren't quiet.

Bombay: Did you get the Powerflow III? I've seen a couple of sound clips of them and they look and sound really nice. Would love to see a pic of those and clip if you can pull it off.
I have the PII, I doubt there is much if any difference in sound though. This was done before I made other changes and with the original TTS map - and the sound did change a little with the current map install.
Pontiac, your actually thinking of switching? That kinda surprises me. You know I am a big fan of BB's but I was so happy I went with the propipe instead. It doesn't have any of that "metal" sound. It's a deeper roar, but kinda quiet at idle. When you get on it though it is almost as loud as the big shots. After I had it dyno'ld when I let off the exhaust it almost sounds like a jake brake on a truck. A big Baaaaaaaaaaa and no popping
2Wheels. If you like the look of the Fatbob/Wideglide exhaust which I like (as I stated in my previous post) there's a great deal on Ebay for an '08 Fatbob exhaust (no cat) with the V&H Slash Cut slipons you mentioned for $199 + $40 S&H. They're both in excellent condition. I almost bought these so I exchanged quite a few emails with the seller and he confirmed they're catless. They were relisted because the 1st buyer flaked. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330705800526...WAX:IT&vxp=mtr
Rooti i really like the look of the pro pipe, the more i see it. Good choice. I dont think i would switch since i cant see spending more on another exhaust but if someone hit me up on a trade i may just do it.
I was just looking at the video Samson has of their PIII and noticed a difference I had missed before. Not only has the new one gotten cheaper by $260 but it looks like the end cap is now longer but the megaphone section seems to be shorter overall compared to the PII - looks like it ends just ahead of the rear axle and that is a good thing because the old was in the way.
