I don't know what pIllion you guys are running, mine doesn't look like the one in the pick. Mine is the one straight out of the HD catalog, it has a slip notch (like on a picture frame or wall hanging clock that would slip over a nail) in it that slips over the T screw behind my solo seat and is secured in the back with a quick release style screw. Takes me about 30 second to add or remove it.
Do you happen to have the part number on it? That would be great if I ended up with that one. What bike do you ride?
I just notched mine out and when I want to use it I slide it in under the solo seat and put the rear screw in. I ussually use my detachable sissy bar so it kind of also holds the pilliion in place but I think it would be good without it too.
And instead of removing the screw threads everytime and putting a filler cap I got this screw with a .45 casing top that I just leave in there.
.
+1 Everytime I change mine out I think about doing this.. thought I was the first! Good job!!!
yes, but being equipped with the solo he won't have the bumpers to keep the 2up seat off the paint so it will get messed up, no idea what the 2 piece setup looks like though.
true... i got around this by putting the bumpers on the seats instead of the fender
