Default Making SB pillion quick release

Hey guys, went down to the dealer today to burn up some free gift card money they gave me, decided to throw passenger pegs and a pillion on the new bob. Now after the parts are ordered, I read that the pillion is more or less a permanent fixture and is a pain to take on and off. Is this true? If so has anyone modded theirs to allow it to come on and off quickly?

Thanks!

U could cut the front plastic tab off( that attaches to the solo seat) and put about 6 suction cups on it and use the back tab and the suction cups to keep it in place. You may have to buy a tab for the rear since u normally use the one from the solo seat.

It's a 5 minute job... Not bad but gets irritating - easier to switch out the solo seat for a 2Up

yes, but being equipped with the solo he won't have the bumpers to keep the 2up seat off the paint so it will get messed up, no idea what the 2 piece setup looks like though.

I just notched mine out and when I want to use it I slide it in under the solo seat and put the rear screw in. I ussually use my detachable sissy bar so it kind of also holds the pilliion in place but I think it would be good without it too.

And instead of removing the screw threads everytime and putting a filler cap I got this screw with a .45 casing top that I just leave in there.

I did see this but there used to be a ton of them a couple years ago. Probably would be easy to make also.

I don't know what pIllion you guys are running, mine doesn't look like the one in the pick. Mine is the one straight out of the HD catalog, it has a slip notch (like on a picture frame or wall hanging clock that would slip over a nail) in it that slips over the T screw behind my solo seat and is secured in the back with a quick release style screw. Takes me about 30 second to add or remove it.
