06 street bob question

Iam thinking about getting an 06 street bob with 23000 miles on it and a few extras with it. Is their any issues with this year and does it have enough HP to haul 2 around . And is $9500 to much just wondering if i should find something with the 96 motor and alittle newer.
I have an 09 vrod NRS now with stageII kit, Air cleaner kit, V&Hcomp series 2into1,and SE pro super tuner. This bike runs strong,but iam looking to just cruise alittle and keep this bike to go nuts at the drags.

If you like the bike, negotiate a better price and buy it. If not keep browsing, lot's of bikes for sale lately it seems.

There were a couple of Streetbobs on this site recently that were low mileage and were selling for $8,500 to 9k. Of course, you might have to pay for shipping which is another 5 or 600. I bought an '07 off this site that I had shipped. It was $9,500 with about 4,500 miles with a $2,500 custom paint job (the reason I bought it cause I love it) and V&H Big Radius pipes (which I'm selling). I shopped for about 2 months, looked at this site, ebay (for reference), Chopper Exchange, Craigslist, Cycle Trader, etc. After you've done that a good deal will jump out at you. With the weather warming up bikes may be a little more expensive but I've never seen a better time to buy. Wait for someone who really needs to sell and is realistic about what they can get.

I'd say it's a bit high. Granted, my bike isn't a Street Bob, it's an FXD. All the same, I got it less than a year ago with 10,500 on the clock, Stage I intake, and a 103", the dealer was *asking* $9,500. I peobably actually got it somewhere in the neighborhood of $9,000. On top of that, I won't have to worry about the problems that plagued the '06s. The only downside is, the dang thing is just too much fun to ride!
I'd say keep looking and either get one at a better price soon before peak riding weather (aka "higher prices") or wait until next fall/winter and the next downturn in prices. There are deals to be had, you just gotta find them, and good luck!

My bike runs as strong (and looks as good) with 22,484 miles as it did at 1,000 miles, so 23,000 miles is no problem so long as it has been well maintained.
Price varies by location so see what similar bikes are going for on your area.

I've dealt with both of these issues on my 06 and, whether or not it involves money out of your pocket, it's a big PITA. Just avoid it and go with a newer bike. It's worth a little extra $ for peace of mind.

Price is high, real high. I picked my 07 up with 7500 miles on it, with a transferable maintenance plan on it (2500 buck option) for $8500. Hit CraigsList up or even eBay. Both will give you the highs and lows of pricing. Kellly Blue Book will also be a good reference point. In today's economy, you should be able to pick one up closer to wholesale than you think. Bargains are out there and this is not one of them..

To OP...price seems high to me. A week ago I just bought a 2009 Street Bob with 1700 miles, all rear passenger goodies, luggage bag, Power Commander, Vance pipes, forward controls, bullet headlight, security system and Stage 1 air cleaner...
I paid $8500. He was only asking $9000.
