Red face Dropped It!!

Well have been riding since 89 and over 150,000 miles and I dropped it for the first time on the street. I say street because I use to race WERA road racing and that don't count in my opinion thats racing. I was leaving work down the same road and the same way that I leave every day for the past 9 years. But today i guess the decided to put a coat of fresh black top sealer on. The ***** slick to say the least, i was coming up to the stop at the end of my service drive hit the brakes front wheel slide bars jerked hard to the right and down she went.
I was going about 20mph I slide about the length of the bike. I picked it up reset the tip over sensor fired it and road it home. I got away with ripped pants a bruised ankle and a cherry on my knee. The bike not so lucky, bent bars, mirror, signals, tanks 2 dents and a scrape exhaust and rear fender scratched from my boot hitting it, and brake lever and forward controls pushed back. O and a red face from the stupid thing that just happened. It is amazing the bike is not very heavy when your adrenalin is pumping any other time would have struggled to pic it back up but not this time i picked it right up off the ground like it was a bicycle. lol

Well i have a few questions about Progressive ins. trying to decide if I should make a claim or not. Do progressive repair or replace fuel tanks, do the put OEM parts back on or aftermarket parts like they do on cars? What kind of impact does it have on your premium, I have there gold member status right now (not sure what thats all about?)

Keep it Rubber Side Down (not like me)

You probably have "accident forgiveness," meaning your first one is free-no increase in premium. My son just had a minor accident with his car. We have been with Progressive for a number of years and this one, the only one on our record, won't increase the premium.

Sounds like it could've happened to anyone. Especially if it happened to you with all the your experience.
You mentioned adrenalin. Do you remember Reader's Digest's "Humor in Uniform"?
Maybe I'm dating myself!
I remember one story about 4 guys riding in a Jeep in Viet Nam. They were ambushed and there was no room to turn around on the road. So they all jumped out and grabbed a corner of the Jeep, picked it up and turned it around and hauled ***. They got back to base and told everyone about what had happened. Then they all tried to pick the Jeep up again and couldn't budge it.

It is amazing how quickly and easily one can pick up a heavy pig of a bike while pumped up on just the right combination of embarrasment, adrenelin & pain
