So I'm installing a SE Heavy breather on my 2012 wlide glide and I cant seem to get the crome band clamp cover to stay on the filter. It keeps pulling away once I put the filter on. This ever happen to anyone? Or know any ideas I could use to fix it.
Also what should I do with the plug in that went to my stock air box? Just hide it?
Ill take some tomorrow morning. Also I'm having a hard time installing my V&H big radius 2-into-2 pipes. The rear header pipe wont match up to the bracket that came in the kit. its about 1/4 off Ive tried about 5 times to line it up but its still not working right. Any thoughts?
I had the same problem with my SE HB. The filter oil was making it impossible to stick. I tried cleaning with Isopropyl alcohol and lighter fluid and it didn't help.
Finally brake cleaner on a rag got it clean enough to try again. The supplied tape was wasted.
I got some 3M double sided emblem tape (cheap at auto parts store) and reapplied it to the chrome trim. Put the clamp and chrome cover over the intake pipe first and then put the filter on. Slid it together and clamped it for an hour with Quik-Grip clamps.
Tight as can be, no problems 500 miles later.
hope that helped
