for those of you that live in hot climates, i could use a bit of help please.
im planning on riding from the uk, to spain and portugal. the temperature is going to be HOT!!!. (28-30 celcius) i have a 2011 FXDWG, stage 1 with sert.i will be rider only, hard bags, and rear kit bag containing camping gear, so not overloaded weight wise.
should the bike be ok as is, in these climates, or is there anything i should do to make it run cooler/better. not generally an issue in the UK, as its bloody freezing for 11.5 months of the year.

The only time you need to worry is if you were stuck in traffic and the bike wasn't moving. It's air cooled and will get hot just idling for an extended time in extreme heat
The bike will be fine. You might want to think about your riding gear - on a trip like that (changing temps and conditions) layering is usually the way to go. Enjoy!
I live in Adelaide, South Australia , that temp is spring here, we get regular temps in the mid 40's in summer, sometimes high 40's Celcius, just ride it as normal.

I live in Texas and am no stranger to heat. Last summer (June-August) we topped 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 celcius) 52 consecutive days. Also topped 110 degrees (43 celcius) 11 times.
Never had a problem with the bike, however, I melted on a regular basis.
Make sure you drink lots of water, wear headgear (whatever you choose - I hate helmets), and get out of the sun if you feel overheated.
Follow these rules and you and the bike will be fine.
Sounds like a great trip. When you return, write it up and report back to us.
