Saw a local add for a windshield for $100 that came off of a 2005 Wide Glide. The person selling it (I think its the wifey doing the legwork for the husband) said its a HD windshield but doesnt know anything else about it. Also it doesnt come with the mounting hardware.
Was wondering if anyone happen to know whether or not a windshield for and 05 would fit an 11?
Worse case scenario I could meet in person and hold it up next to the forks I guess.
On most WG parts the cutoff year is 2006. Seems newer bike stuff usually will not fit earlier year WG's.
But a windshield is a windshield and it will probably fall down to the mounting hardware and since yours does not come with any you might be able to get the right mounting kit from the w.shield manufacturer and make that puppy work.
if it has NO hardware at all, meaning no cross braces and no mounting brackets or QD clamps then that is not a good deal at all. I priced the hardware for a kit thinking that I could save some money since I was planning to get a Clearview Sheild anyway (much better than the HD ones) but found that the hardware actually costs more if bought separately so unless you have a line on some used hardware save your money and buy the kit.
