masking tape, jig saw with a plastic or composit blade. mark it with a windshield pen and take your time and cut it. when your done get a real fine sanding sponge and even it up...its not hard and it comes out perfect. i have cut all my own

what he said. i cut a windshield down a while ago. i used a jigsaw with a fine blade. cut slow since it will melt the part you cut. take your time and follow your line. after you got it sanded down, to finish wet sand with 1500 sandpaper and it will look like glass (smooth).

I did mine pretty much the same way but used a Dremel with a cut off wheel to make the cut. Worked out great.

just take your time. did one a few years back.. taped off the line with masking tape, drew the line with a sharpie and then cut the line. Sanded the rough edge with like 400 grit and worked my way down to 2,000 wet sandpaper.
Good luck!

To raise the headlight opening I used a hand fret saw, followed by a couple of big files (a flat and a round), then sandpaper. It was much easier than I expected.
