You're missing out on the opertunity to hang around the dealership picking up a few teeshirts, and drinking the "free coffee". I have only bought one new bike I took it in for it's services not because it was the dealer but I knew the person doing the work and was sure everything I was charged for actualy happened.
Thats what they all say when the bike is in the back and you are walking around buying teeshirts and drinking free coffee.
Not a requirement that they do the service but all of the above and if something should break a dick dealership could try to blame you if they can prove what you did or didn't do caused or contributed to the failure. Just keep good records and buy a svc manual and follow it. Be ready to rip someone a new *** if they even try to go down the road I just mentioned above. Enjoy YOUR bike.
