Tucson is great! We just PCS'ed out here from DC in January and was excited that I could ride year around. Lots of beautiful scenery in every direction and interesting destinations. My only gripes are the condition of the roads around town and the dangers of the all the snow birds on the road, I was cut off 3 times in 10 minutes on my ride yesterday. All in all, I love it.
I miss it grew up right on the foot hills of Tortolita Mountains. I miss seeing the mountains. When I lived there we lived a mile from the closest house. Now what I have been told there is a golf course what use to be our back yard.
Yeah, the roads are quite crappy in some places. And yes, there are a lot of senior citizens out here that should not be driving....

Some more I love Tucson pics. These were taken today near the intersection of Kinney Rd and McCain Loop.
Never ridden around Tuscon. Grew up in the Phoenix area. All I remember of Tuscon is how aggravating driving around town is. Nothing but residential streets from one side to the other. On a side note if your in Tuscon and do not visit The Meet Rack, The Buffet, The Trident you are doing yourself a great injustice. The first two are some of the best dives Ive ever been to.
I've been to Tombstone several times cause my mother-in-law lived there and that's where the wife HAD to go. Only been to Tucson a couple times. To Old Tucson and could recognize several buildings from old Western movies and shows. To Tucson on business so it wasn't so much fun. Liked going on further a little south from Tombstone and shopping across the border. Will never forget the kid that offered to shine my boots and a screw from his "virgin" sister for cheap. Kid cracked me up. Since my mother-in-law lived there, when I visited I was more or less considered a local. Got to see and do at lot that most people don't. One thing was go down in some of the tunnels under the town. Tombstone is riddled with tunnels under it. And when I would go to the Bird Cage Saloon I never ever bought my own drinks. Tourist would want a picture of the bearded cowboy all the time. Had many a fine lady on my lap followed by another drink. Great times until mother-in-law moved to California.
I been there quite a few times for work and visiting the now wife when she went to school up there. Don't think I can think of anything good to say about the place except I don't have any reason to go back now....haha
