Air Cleaner Upgrade and Retune

Air Cleaner Upgrade and Retune
I have 2011 FXDB and have the V&N pipes on it. I had it dyno tuned with the pipes but kept the stock air cleaner. Now I would like to upgrade to a Mach 2 or similiar. The dealer is saying that I would need to retune it because of the new increased air flow. Is this correct or are they blowing smoke up my *** to get more $$$$. Can I use a fuel management instead?

As far as I know , yes he's correct, you don't need to tune if you just change exhaust, you might just get a few pops on deceleration.
But you really do need to retune if you change the air intake in any way.

Your bike may not run as good as it could with a tune. Lots of info here.

Fitted slipons to mine it popped ,
Then I fitted a Ness Big Sucker behind the stock cleaner it popped like crap and also felt like it was getting hotter.
I had it dynoed and it now runs sweet, no popping and runs cooler, feels like more power as well, so in my case yes it was well worth it.

Get a tuner with auto tuning and your all set . Every time you change something you can re-tune it yourself
