I did this a while back as well. I noticed Harley did not list orange either, but I asked at the parts counter and lo and behold, the parts guy looked out back and found one...

Looks great!! If it tends to not last long just ride your bike more... You'll go through tires faster XD. I go through a rear every 4-6 months so it dont have to last too awful long lol!

I fail to see where a regular paint touch up pen wouldnt work for getting more colors to work with.. just a thought.

That looks like a whip hanging from the clutch on the picture in question. I just bought one of those white markers from the dealer. They did have orange and now I'm kind of wishing I would have gone with it instead.

Well thats based on about 8500 miles of riding. Thats the wear I got out of my last Dunlop and it looks like my current Perelli Night Dragon is right on pace for about the same.

Right now im averaging about 2000 miles per month. Sometimes more sometimes less. So yeah, tire change around every 4 months is very likely. 6months on the conservative side.

In stead of useing a paint pen or tire marker I went to a local hobby store and got some poster paint they have a lot more colors to choose from. I havent done the bike tires yet but I did do the tires on my 4x4 truck and after 2 years and several day long offroading trips in up to 4 feet of mud and every thing else I could put my truck through the poster paint is still holding up pretty good.
