I want to relocate my front turn signals to the forks, but my windshield will be in the way. Any Ideas on how to do this. I've seen the threads on relocating to lower triple tree and this just won't work (Windshield is in the way) unless I get much longer bolts (I'm afraid if they are too long they would lose their strength). I don't like the looks of the clamps unless it's a last resort. I'll be installing 14" apes in a couple of weeks and would like to do everything at the same time. Please, Please, Please help me out with some ideas. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Oh, by the way, I only use the windshield on the highway. When riding in town I like the look of the ride much better without (and the feel of the wind).
I know that HD seems to make some really dumb design flaws once and a while, but the relocation kit they made is designed to work with all the windshields they offer when it comes to being model specific. So I would think that their relocation kit made for your model would be designed to work any of the windshields they designed to fit your bike.
My windshield does not cover my entire triple-tree. However, it would be a tight fit and I don't think it would look very clean. I am looking for something that would keep them out of the way and look sharp whether or not I am using the windshield. I am about to decide that the mirror signals would be the best way to go but they are really expensive (I guess they are a drop in the bucket when comparing their cost to some of the other mods I want to do: WG front end, Progressive shocks, High Performance Intake, tuner, True-Track, etc.).
Still hoping someone will chime in with a idea I haven't thought of, like relocating relocating them to the frame in some way.
Thanks for all the suggestions, If I come up with a great idea, I'll post for others to see.
