I just had this kit put on. they work fine installed on the bottom triple tree of the fork. They don't hit the gas tank, installed here. Someone who has installed this kit themselves should be able to help out. My mechanic said it was pretty simple to do (took him like 20 minutes) but then again that is why he is my mechanic... good luck . I got the kit for the 49 mm forks so as long as that is what your kit is it will fit well.

I put my kit on my bike and the hardest part of doing these relocation kits is getting the turn signal wires out of the harness and pulling the bullets off of the signal switch housings on the handlebars. A bit time consuming but not terribly complicated. Do yourself a favor though and loosen the bullets from the stock chrome brackets while they are still attached to the handlebar mounts. Kind of a PITA to twist them off otherwise. I have not any clearance issues with them mounted right above the lower triple tree but because they are clamps you don't have to mount them exactly straight out if it is an issue. You can always position them twisted a but more toward the front.
