Man this is a cool, easy, cheap, idea. I may do it later.
Right now I use my crash bar fog lights as running lights, so with my running/signal lights up higher I think it will give the cagers more too see.
Thanks for the post.

this looks like a great idea, thanks for putting up the instructions.
I have removed the wiring grommet and looked into the cavity near the steering hub, however I cant see the wire connections for the indicators.
how far buried are they in there? I have tried a gentle pull on the indicator wires but there does not seem to be a lot of give.
I am off to the local spare parts shop in the morning to see if I can find a 5/16 exhaust manifold stud. these are normally UNC for the end that screws into the alloy head and unf for the external end that goes through the manifold.
therefore one of these should work nice on the windscreen mounting point without the need to retap the indicator housing.
Will let you know how it goes, providing I can find the indicator wire connector buried in the frame.
Just got finished doing this mod to my brother in laws FLD. Real simple and doesn't really take more than 30 minutes. We just put 16" apes on it last week and after this mod it really has made the front end look alot better.
OK, I changed my mind and decided to do this front turn signal relocate mod.
The actual mechanics of cutting the bolts and moving them was a breeze, but locating the wiring harness and the connections was a pain in the _ss.
I couldn't get to the connections that are up inside the frame, even after lifting my tank as far as it would go with hoses intact.
I finally had to drain the tank, remove the front hose and lift the tank off to be able to get to the connections.
After that I was able to reroute the turn signal cables and it looks great. It took several hours and very hard work to do - I don't know how ya'll can do this in 30 min.
As long as I had everything exposed I installed my stereo speakers too, so I was able to run the power line back to the battery much easier.
Have to admit, my FLD looks better with the running lights/turn signals, down on the forks, and I have already had some compliments on how it looks.
