I had to chuckle when you said it bucks and snorts at around 25mph. My 96c.i. is spanked pretty hard and does the same thing at low speeds, so I can only imagine what yours is doing.
ps: gotta love the automatic compression releases.
Sorry to up an old thread but I'm considering the 120r just wanted to know how it's when you feel like cruising on the highway with stock bagger and how is your gas mileage compared to stock when you don't snap the throttle at every corner

Gas mileage is hard to rate because uts my short haul bike and I'm always on it. Typically get about 30MPG. If on the freeway for extended amount of time w/o horsing about it would probably closer to 40. If you are concerned about MPG then it eill frive up crazy becuase its hard to not twist that throttle all the time!
It hums down the FWY no issue. At 70MPH its turning 3K in 5th and it just purrs. After my final mods it runs very smooth now and is OK at low speeds. I changed the stock cams to TMAX 660's and changed the exhaust to 2" RB Pro-stock spyders. Its a lot quieter and the 2" pipes bumped up the HP back where it was with the stock cams. I attached the latest dyno. As you can see the curves are nice and smooth.
You've got over 110-115 ft-lb torque at 2,000 RPM ... and about as much HP as stock motors have at their PEAK!
I know, it ruins you for stock TC's. Its hard to keep the FXR4 evo stock after riding this bike, but the FXR4 sound has it beat Its got me thinking about the RGU now. Upgrades in its future, but MPG/reliability concerns of course.
The crate 120R is a simple upgrade and cost effective - at least for me (mine was a special case since the 120R specs only goes down to 2002- mine being a 2000 required new ignition). Final cost was about $2600 after I sold the original TC in the bike. I figure if I built up the TC95 to a 117 or so to match the 120R I would still need the clutch upgrades, pipes, carb, intake, ac and installation labor - that's common between the 2 builds. The TC95 build would include extra labor and the associated parts which you could easily spend $2600
