Well I posted a couple weeks ago that I was getting 56 mpg on my 2011 Dyan Super Glide. I started to doubt this could be true when no one else was getting this kind of mileage so I started thinking; is it running to lean? No, I checked the plugs, then I decided to check the odometer and sure enough it is way off. I have the speedo/tach I had installed at my local HD dealer when I had my 500 mile checkup. I checked the miles to my gym on my bike and it was 8.4 then in my wifes car 5.2. So instead of getting 56 mpg I am now in the 40's if not less. Guess I'll be making a trip back to the dealership. If you have this speedometer you may wish to check your odometer.
Here is the speedometer I bought;
I regularly get 50 MPG. As a matter of fact I went 177 miles today, filled up when I left and filled up when I got back. 3.48 gal = 50.86 MPG Once, riding with the Florida Crew on the Florida flat land I got 56 one time so it is possible.
i'm sure the variables of temps, altitude, terrain, ect, have a large variable factor.....
i drive 26 miles one way to work (52miles round trip) the last full week i drove i filled up on the way home. i went 213 miles(that's the farthest i've pushed it with the needle in the red, and the fuel light on), on 4.1 gal 51.9 mpg.... pretty straight shot and not hilly, so i cruise at 60-65 open road. In the colder months i noticed a drop even with non-blend fuel. with the weather temps rising, mpgs getting slightly better.
gas makes a noticeable difference in my bob. if i put cheapo mid grade walmart gas (10% ethanol blend) it will knock back down to 46-47 steady. No ethanol nets better mpg's POINT BLANK! I run mid grade non-blended EVERY chance i get!
i usually keep an eye out for gas between 180-200 miles.
I get 38 in the mountains and 40-45 mpg on the highway with straight hwy riding. I was very happy with this result . You should see similar mileage with your bike . I do not baby it at all. In fact I ride 75-80 mph most of the time here in MT.
I have the same speedo on mine (I installed myself). I get around 38 to 45 mpg. Depends on home much I turn the loud switch! I have a stage one setup and I am happy with the mpg.
