If I'm crusing between 55 and 60 I regularly get 55+ mpg. Running freeway at 75 she drops off in the mid 40's. Of course, my ride is a 98' FXDS 80 ci Evo. When I average the fuel economy, add the price of high test gas, and then subtract the payment (which I ain't got).....I'm movin' over the face of mother earth real cheap.
I regularly get 50 MPG. As a matter of fact I went 177 miles today, filled up when I left and filled up when I got back. 3.48 gal = 50.86 MPG Once, riding with the Florida Crew on the Florida flat land I got 56 one time so it is possible.
That's darn good right there. I took my odometer to almost 150 miles once and got skeered. When I got gas, quickly realized that I could have made it into the 170's. Getting mid to low 40's (mpg) right now. I'll report back with more accurate once I get it back on the road and put the tank lift to the test.
My 10 Superglide gets 50 mpg all the time. But I am not an aggressive rider. Really! I'm not. On occasion I may have gone over the speed limit. Just a little bit. Not very often. Okay maybe a little more than that.
I like that speedo/tach combo. Is that a HD item or aftermarket?
Totally stock (ok, replaced air cleaner element with a K & N) FLD has been getting consistently about 42 mpg when the weather is 20s-30s in the morning, 40s-50s in the afternoon. As the Michigan spring warms, I've seen 45+. Expect near 50 when we hit summer weather?
I ride 20 miles each way to work every day that I can, mostly 55 mph country roads (I avoid US-23 freeway: it sux.) I keep it pretty tame, except maybe sometimes when I hang with the bikers in Hell.
37-42mpg
But I don't give a **** I didn't buy it to save money on gas
If you're gettin in the 50's for gas mileage you sure ain't twistin' the wick very much.

Those of use with carbed bikes have it a bit easier.....I dont even start looking for gas till 180 miles and usually go to 200 before I hit reserve (averaging 42-45mpg). I wouldnt worry about it so much as if you average 40+mpg and you have a 5 gal tank, then at a minimum you can go 200 miles. Just have to get to know what your bike does....everyone is different, and riding style has a big part in your mileage....i'm a bit agressive on the throttle
Last couple of tanks mine was getting 39mpg but that's a consistent 75-80mph on the freeway but I think I can do better with some easy cruising and warmer weather.

It's HD speedo/tach...and they are sweet...over 600 colors to choose from when you set it up! They go for $299 at the dealer. Got mine on Black Friday for $250.
