How many of you are 6' or taller and ride a lowrider. Right now I ride a superglide and really like it, but the dealer has a white lowrider for the right price that is really clean. I would need to change out the forward controls, then I think the ride would not beany different. Or another thought is if I already have a superglide why should I want a lowrider. Maybe I should just wait for a wideglide to come along and get a complete defferent ride. Any opinions ???
I'm right around 6' and sat on all dyna glides....the wide glide was the only one that was comfortable to me. But I'm probably not a good example becuase you're already riding a superglide.
Personally, I think you already answered your own question...if you have a superglide, why bother with a lowrider?...sure, there are some more chrome bits on the lowrider...but essentially (other than seat height and some other small details), it's the same bike.
You should wait for a wide glide...of course....that's just my opinion.
The Wide Glide is also the same as the Super Glide other than a few variations. The Low Rider has a tach, the black and chrome engine and a lowered suspension. The Wide Glide has a wider front end and forward controls. If the price is right, the LowRider is a step up.

Other than the rear end (i.e. swingarm, shocks), a wide glide is quite a different bike than a superglide...or any other dyna glide. It's rake is different...it's forks are different...it has a different handlebar setup (even compared to a st. bob...bars are thicker and the wiring is internal)...the rear fender is unique to the dyna lineup...it has a considerably longer wheelbase than other dynas...it comes stock with forward controls, unlike any other dyna...it has a taller seat height than any other dyna glide...Also, the tank is different...or at least the console on the tank...and it has a black and chrome engine, unlike a standard superglide. The differences make for a much different riding/handling motorcycle. And if performance is an issue, then a wideglide probably isn't the better choice.
I think the biggest indicator of how much different a wide glide is than other dynas would be by looking at the HD P&A catalog...I can't tell you how many accessories I've looked at that say "fits 06-later dyna..except FXDWG". This was especially true prior to 06. Things even like seats weren't compatible between dynas and wide glides.
So the point I'm making is.. yes..a wide glide is a dyna glide..but it is undoubtedly the black sheep of the model line.
i am 6'5" and ride a 97 Lowrider which i had forward controls installed on. It is a very comfortable ride for me. I rode a coworkers 98 Wideglide and it was also very comfortable

I don't think there is enough difference to me to consider a change from a SG to a LR. If you already have a Dyna and your looking for a change, get something other than a Dyna or a WG as it is very different from the other Dynas.
