There is only one length of shift arm you can get, the arm that the website refers to is the length of the arm already on the bike that connects to the splined trans shaft. The lever you get from LaBriola attaches to the existing arm, pretty slick setup really.
So you dont have to take the shift shaft on the trans spline, because I think you have to take the inner primary to do that. Does the new shifter bolt sraight on the trans shifter?

Thanks

That's correct, the shift lever you get bolts onto the arm that comes off the trans, no need to remove the primary.

Looks great! Very slick, but out of curiosity how practical is it while riding, or is it a case of no real difference?

After about 10 minutes of cruising around my neighborhood, then going out into traffic, I'd say 30 minutes or so and it felt just as comfortable as shifting the conventional way. Shift into N as you're rolling up to a stop and you can put both feet down like normal. Starting on a hill is a challenge as you have to work the throttle and front brake at the same time but it's not that bad after the first couple times.
