I have a 3/4 I ride with all the time. I had to remove the visor to keep the wind from pushing it back. I dont pay a lot for my glasses but I make sure they fit. Have not lost a pair in the last 4 years.
I have a novelty beanie, i wear it tight and low over my eyes with a good pair of sunglasses that hug my face well and. Don't have any wind issues at any speed
I agree, I primarily wear a novelty german with goggles, and have much less issues at highway speeds than the half DOT legal one that I have. It's all about fit, I can't go over 60 mph with the DOT without slideback, no matter how tight it is. The only thing that stops it (and is uncomfortable as hell in Florida) is wearing a knit cap under it. But my novelty german, at the same size, is tighter and more enveloping. It's my preference, but it comes down to fit.
Yes hats off to riders who use skid lids at high speeds or any speed. Fitting correctly or not. Too much risk for me to look good.
I have a FF but mostly use my halfy. I understand the risk of a halfy... but I actually FEEL safer in a half helmet because of the better field of vision. Feeling safer means I am more relaxed and more in control of my bike. *shrug* though I do understand your comment
never wear anything but sunglasses.. used to ride a cbr1000 over 100mph daily, never had a problem with wind or noise.. tried to wear a helmet once 15 years ago, at about 80 it flipped back and choked me.. i left it on the side of the road and haven't owned one since..

I have a similar opinion verses FF. I wear 3/4. Daytona or the Lick Cycles version.
My comments was about a non-DOT helmet i.e. skid lid. I especially feel this way after the warranty manager at the local dealership high sided a truck bed merging onto the freeway back in Dec. He was wearing a skid lid. Simple thing, looking to his left rear to merge and truck in front, without warning slammed on their brakes. He ended up in the truck bed with a cracked skull and was in a coma for a week. Only thing really hurt was his head. The helmet was in pieces... You never know what is around the corner. Course you can quit riding, but you where is the fun in that.

Course some states you don't have a choice. I was stopped in Washington (state) because the officer thought I was wearing a non-DOT helmet. He actually had me take it off and he verified it was a true DOT - not just a sticker on a skid lid. Course he could just be using that as a reason to stop us and check us out. Big bad bikers you know. 9 out of 10 are drinking and driving...
I bought a DOT Gmax half helmet from the harley dealer when I picked up my bike. It wore terrible and at about 45, it would start to slide back. alot of it had to do with the loose liner. It was the lowest profile helmet they had.
Last night, I removed the liner and sewed velcro into it. I also cut and sanded some of the foam out of the inside of the helmet so it fits lower on my head. It looks alot better now and I will test it out today in the wind.
I have a FF, 3/4 and 1/2. The FF comes out when it's really cold or if I'm hitting the Tollway, otherwise it's the 1/2. The fit is good and no movement up to 65mph. I have been wearing Oakley sunglasses, but recently ordered a set of Transitions for when I'm out at night. They're relatively cheap all things considered.
No brain bucket here. And I wera edge safty glasses you can get them online the fit is perfect and they are real safty glasses no worries about something striking them and crackin them. Lets face it at 70 or 80 mph that helmet isn't really gonna help you. So ride free and ride hard. Lifes is short just have fun. Live life as it was your last day on earth.
