I rode a SG in07-08, with the old style frame. It wallowed in the turns and scraped the boards too easily. I hear the new frame models are MUCH better and I know you will have a great time on it. Batwing Harleys are very popular.
Just a hint here, if your bike doesn't come with the lower fairing wind deflectors, get a set. It will stop the buffeting on the chest and upper leg area. Very much worth the investment...dd50

Yep, the new frame is why I wanted an '09 SG or newer. I got lucky and found a '10 with even less miles. Thanks for the tip on the wind deflectors.
Great comments everyone. Thanks for them all. I agree, "moving on" is a better description. Don't get me wrong, I loved my Wide Glide. It served me well and I would have loved to keep it. Unfortunately, it was a necessary sacrificial lamb in order to get the SG. In the short time I've had the SG, it's been very enjoyable on short rides. No long rides yet. It's been very responsive on my normal back roads. The wider tires seem to really grab the road. I am very pleased so far.
Glad you like your new ride that is the most important thing.
