I have the sundowner, stock, and a bad lander on the way. Less than a minute to change out depending on how I feel that day.
As stated above GF will fall in love with the sundowner.

For all intent and purposes, I have become a function over form regarding my Harley.

1) It is cool already. It is a Harley Davidson.
2) Anything that keeps me riding comfortable is better than a good looking product that keeps you from riding.
3) It's a Harley Davidson. It is already cool.

We've had rain constantly and have not loaded up the camera yet. Should be able to do it tihis afternoon. And post on this thread...

editbrian...did sissy bar you have on your bike come with the FatBob's? I forgot but will look around.

I emailed/PM the forum member to say I will take his Fab Bob seat...I think the FabBob seats are somewhat comfortable but not sure if they trump other seats. I believet in this case its trial and error...and I can always...as someone says, go back to solo seat for my solo rides.

BTW my wife thinks I am nuts LOL...for getting this bike. I sayd "Life is short..."

My wife thought I was nuts too the first time. Now, she rides all the time!
I sent you an email.

The sissy bar was a gift from my wife. It is the Harley detachable plates with a size low or med-low bar.

The reason I choose the FB seat is because my friend rides a FB, and we went on a 300 mile trip when we first got our bikes. Me a SB him a FB. Well after the 300 miles, and turn around to come home. I could not ride but 20 miles, and then I'd have to get off of the stock SB solo seat. I had never had pain in my *** and back like that ever.
He was fine. He wasn't complaining. I had to sit on his bike to get my butt to quit hurting, and we had to switch bikes for a while. Then his *** started to hurt, and he wanted his bike bike. I couldn't blame him.

Well I looked at the $300 seats, and didn't want to spend the money, but I remembered how that FB seat felt. So when I found one for $65 shipped, I jumped on it. Literally. I put it on, and have never put my stock seat back on.

I can ride about 250 miles before I need a break. That is also because my legs start to hurt, and I just need a break from riding. So that is 150 for gas, then another 100 miles, and take a little break.

My wife doesn't mind the smaller back, but we do not tour on the bike. We go out for a date, or a quick ride of 40 miles one way. So no complaints there.

Best of all. I feel better when riding my bike, and I saved $235 over a brand new Harley seat. Whooo Hooo!

i'm trying out a saddleman solo/passenger set up with a drivers back rest.

a coworker bought this seat, and took it on one ride, and his wife didn't care for the passenger seat at all. offered it to me at a price i couldn't pass up. one guy calls it my pawpaw seat.... but i tell ya what, that backrest makes a huge difference (for me anyway). the gel is a bit different to get used to, the drivers seat isn't a deep seat, so it sits you "up" and a bit forward, and when i initially sit on the seat, it kind of feels stiff, but give it a mile or so and it softens up..... i'm getting used to it.

the wife hasn't ridden on the passenger pad yet, so that situation is TBD!

That is pretty much the same profile as the FXDF seat.

I don't ride with a windshield, but would like to have one some day, but when I ride with my Biker Friendly bag as a back rest, I can ride all day.
The back rest will do wonders for windy days. Some say they would rather have the back support on windy days rather than a windshield. I would have to agree that the back rest i.e. "pawpaw" seat will help a ton.
I can only imagine the windshield and the backrest.

I hope it works out for ya. Nice paint job, also.

To add to the thread... I am looking for some detachable hard bags for my FXDB. I already have the detach setup for the sissy bar. Does anyone have any good ideas for me?
