I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about the detachable saddlebags for the fat bob. I ended up getting them but had to get all the hardware separate and the dealership says they won't fit. Is there something specific you have to get as in hardware for the fat bob that's different from other dynas?

What part number are your bags? I have #90181-08A detachable bags fitted to my FXDF see image, the sissy bar was already fitted so don't know if this effects the hardware required. I still have the email quote from my dealership and there was no mention of an additional hardware kit being required. For Dyna models other than the FXDF turn signal relocation kits are required. The instructions for fitting can be found here http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ts/-J04410.pdf and these don't appear to indicate any additional hardware is required.
The bags are the dyna harley detachable saddlebags. #90181-08a. Is there a difference if the number doesn't have the A on the end? I'm thinking the dealer just didn't know how to put them on. Looks like I'll have to find another mechanic.
According to H-D 2009 Genuine Motor Accessories and Genuine Motor Parts Catalog. Part Number 90181-08 "Fits '06-later Dyna models (except '09-later FXDB,'08-later FXDF and FXDSE models)." Don't know what the differents is since PN 90181-08A "Fits '06-later Dyna models (except FLD)."
From Jersey (that's the island in europe!) H-D the details for 90181-08 is:
Detachable Saddle Bags Fits '06-later Dyna models (except '08 FXDF). All models (except FXDWG) require separate purchase of Turn Signal Relocation Kit P/N 68732-02A (Domestic), P/N 68733-02A (International) or Layback License Plate Kit P/N 60215-06. Does not fit with Rear Axle Covers or Premium Profile Low Suspension Kit P/N 54619-08.
Their page also states that 90181-08 is superseded by 90181-08a. I know that 90181-08a fits a 2010 FXDF. It might be worth going to back to your dealership as it looks like they might have supplied the wrong kit. I'll also look inside my bags tomorrow to see what part # is inside them
Thanks so much everyone especially WoodyTJ. I got the bags from ebay and they didn't come with the mounting hardware. The guy ripped me off cause he made it sound like the hardware was supose to come separate. About 300 bucks later, I got al the nuts and bolts but now the dealership is stating they don't fit. So ya, if there's still a way the bags that I have (90181-08) without the A at the end can work, then any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
