I have a 20111 Street Bob and I presently looking at the possibility of fitting some cams (more than likely 583 S&S).
Now I've heard the term 'bolt on Cams'. Are these sort of cams literally bolt on or is some other engine work required? I would let my local S&S dealer do the work, but I just wanted some independent advice as to how big this job is. Any info would be appreciated....
Yes, they are bolt-in cams. This means that you can fit them and stuff like valve clearance will be OK i.e. you can bolt these cams in without other mods.
They are "bolt in", but you will have to either cut out your existing pushrods, or go through the top, which is more of a pain in the ***. Get the adjustable pushrods and you'll be doing yourself a favor!
"bolt in" implies that no other engine mods are needed. Some cams not labeled as bolt in may require monifocations for valve clearance. If your looking for recommendations for a Dyna, I like the Andrews 37. The Dyna is a fairly light bike that loves to rev and these pull pretty good into the upper rpm range were the 21 & 26 run out of steam.
