Default 412 Prog Shocks-Squeaky Noise

Ride:09 FXDC
I've 412 series progressive shocks on the rear (All chrome version)
Shocks have 9000 miles on it.
3 days ago I installed the "Ricor Shocks" in my front forks and my front end ride is so smooth.
I took my bike this weekend for a 400mile trip.

All of a sudden I've started hearing really loud squeaking noise from my rear shocks on my ride. I even sat on the bike when it was idle and if I keep doing jumping motion I hear the same squeaky noise.

I checked the shocks for any oil leak and I dont see any?
I checked with my bud and he says that the shocks are gone & I need to replace it? (I'm not convinced on this)

Can someone pls tell me what I need to do to fix the squeaky noise?
How long usually shocks last?
Any help is most appreciated

Try turning the upper caps a little and see if it stops. Mine were making squeaky noises until I rotated the caps a little. I think the springs wre hitting the caps or something. Free and easy to try anyways.

I had that problem before. I took the shocks off, and greased the shafts/bolts that the shocks ride on top and bottom. Problem solved.

Don't you love when people tell you the parts you picked to put on YOUR bike (that they'll probably never see in person let alone have to ride) are junk and you should just run out and buy a part that's way more expensive? Helpful.

shrini23,
Like Crazy said remove the shock bolts and grease the bolts. Take a look at the bushings when you have the bolts out. If you still have the squeaky noise give us a call at 714-523-8700

Did you try rotating the caps a little? It's worth a shot before taking the bolts out.
