I doubt if any bike lift will automatically work on a Dyna frame. That skid plate for theoilpan is the culprit that requires the H-D frame support from Harley. It is a bunch of orange and black plastic blocks that attach to the frame to act as leveling devices to offset the skid plate.

It is a nightmare to use just to lift the bike.
Nightmare?? Your not serious are you?

Jim, This is what you need.

Part # 98965-99 $21.99 at your local Stealer.

Not to be a smartass but there are literally dozens of threads about this. Do a search in the Dyna forum. Tim
Yes, I am serious!!!

I lift my bikewith 2x6's under the wheels also. With my 1" lower shocks it still becomes a mess as I need a 1x6 under the back tire also now!!!!

Have someone tilt the bike to a vertical position, move the lift under the bike, position the stupid plastic blocks under the frame in the correct position, then finally the the bike!!!! EASY!!!!!

Why didn't the company just make the Dyna frame like every other H-D model??? No other model needs the stupid plastic blocks. They are a pain to position correctly. My son-in-law can lift his V-Rod by himself wit no blocks to **** with.

Again, I AM SERIOUS!!!!

ButtMan, SERIOUSLY, it is a simple operation to lift my 06 SuperGlide
with the yellow Sears jack and the $20 HD frame adapters.

I have done it at least one hundred times. By my old arthritic self.

Three minutes, taking my crotchetyass time.

Which jackare you using, red or yellow??

My scooter is lowered one inch at the shock,
and another one and a quarter at the frame.
The yellow jack still goes under without blocking,
but only by about a business card.

I love my yellowSears Yak. yuk yuk yuk.

As far as your query-

"Why didn't the company just make the Dyna frame like every other H-D model???"

Are you SERIOUS!!!! ??????

If you're consideringbuying the RED Sears lift, you might want to go to their website and read the reviews that are posted on it's reliability. Kinda scary. I think I personally would rather shell out the extra cash and get the yellow one....seems a bit more dependable.

I have a '04 FXDI. Bought the red Sears lift, it went down on its own power twice, took it back, got the yellow one. After messing around with ita while, I had to go back and get the adaptors form the local stealer. It still didn't fit too well, had to use wood blocks under the wheels to get it up high enough to get the front cross member on the jack to clear the kick stand. Took it back a month latter. Ordered a J&S jack. Works great, no problems, no wood blocks, don't need the Harley adaptors. Just my $.02

The J&S jack works perfectly on a Dyna. It straddles the oil pan. It's an expensive jack, but well worth the extra money.

This is the setup I'm hoping to get soon for my Super Glide Custom.

EazyRiser post lift, with a 'bike grab'. Bike grabis great for keeping the bike vertical in the garage without the need for the side stand....saves a lot of space for us here in the UK with our small garages........

I have the red sears Jack and a wide glide.I did have to modify the jack some but I don't put it on blocks or the additional lifting pegs.. When its on the stand I roll the jack under from the right side , pump the jack and as the jack starts to pick, I raise the bike up off the stand , goes right up. As far as the oil pan, I cutout the round blacktube between the two pads on the jack, and remounted the pads to the outside of the bottoms using longer 1/2" grade 8 bolts(the originals were slightly thinner, metric,so I did have to enlarge the hole) and thru the tube away. This also made the pads farther aprt from each other so the jack is slightly wider.I can sit on my bike while on the jack. No stability problems.I store mine on the jack, fully extended but use the safetybrace in case is does sink down. For $69.00 it was the best deal I purchased for the bike. I like the foot controls better on the red jack because I can use two hands to control the bike while lifting, and the handle does not need to be in for lifting and lowering. BUT whatever jack you get , you need to be comfortable withusing it!
