I have the 30t/70t gearing on my bike. I have also change the size of my rear tire. I find my speedo is now 5 mph fast at 30, 10 mph fast at 60, 13 mph fast at 70. It really didn't used to bug me but now Im pretty happy with my bike and think I should fix it. I was going to get a tts but no place close to me can tune it. Besides my Bike runs Perfect with the PCV now. I am considering the SIM-1. I called and talked to Dakota Digital today. I also printed out the directions. Seems pretty strait forward. Any Advice On this.
-Does it work?
-Will I still Have 6th gear light?
-Hows the install?
-AnyBody done this whom may have some tips??????
I have to cut and solder wires so Its kinda a big deal. I don't want some pos that irriversable. Any advice welcome, besides a Tuner.....
I am going to put the 70t on this weekend, just wondering if your pulley was bigger then your belt, because i got mine off a 06 street bob which has 1 1/8 pulley n my belt is 1 inch and if it is problem free no issues. Also if you do the Dakota let me know how it goes Thanks
I asked this question about the Dakota Digital for an 07 Street Bob a few weeks back. It is plug and play, no cutting wires and all functions work, as well as more functionality.
Dakota Digital had no idea if it would fit my bike, ask me to send pictures, never got back to me.
Part that fits 07 Street Bob:
Dakota Digital MCL-3200 Series Gauge - Blue - Chrome Bezel - 04-12 Dyna, XL
MCL-3204, MCL-3204-R
You can get it with a blue or red display as well as a black or chrome ring.

My 70t pulley is off a 2006 bob. 11/8 pulley 1" belt. About a 1000 miles on it with no problems. One thing to remember is that 70t won't fit unless you already have a 30 front. Another note I'm ordering that SIM-1 tonight.

This is what I was thinking cause its the route Im going but..
as you just stated you got the LR dash with seperate tach.
So I am of no use.. sorry bud. By the way the scoot is looking good, as always. Glad you found your happy place with the bike, cause mine keeps changing.
The Dakota Digital units are very easy to calibrate for the speedo, just make certain you have exactly 1 mile measured off.
Much easier than with a tuner type and takes all the guess work out of calibrating.
