Not sure when it'll be. We're headed out of town for the holidays. I'll let you know when I dig into it. Damn Colorado weather keeps staying nice enough to ride and I hate hearing bikes blast by while mine is down.
Kinda dissapointed as I called both traxxion and race tech and they both were running skeleton staff and there was nobody there to answer questions about springs.

It is the week of Christmas and New years. Don't they get time to spend with their families as we all do?
Great thread and information here. I appreciate the feedback you guys are putting into this.
My '96 FXDL has what I believe is the completely stock front end. I am planning on PCing the lowers and figure I should spruce it up while it's apart. I get tons of movement up there. Down here in Florida we have very few twisties, mainly high speed highway with lots of road gators (truck tire tread) to smack into. I weigh 170 which equated to Recommended Fork Spring Rate: 0.901 kg/mm from RT's site. The Intiminators seem to be the accept best valves to put in, have we identified the better spring types to choose from? Is there anything else that should be replaced (besides seals, of course) while it's apart? I do have a fork brace.
You can buy a fork rebuild kit that will come with new slider bushings and all the seals you need. I think it's worth the $50 or so just to replace everything at once. These mods have improved my bikes stability and smoothed out the ride a lot. With that 96 you should have the 39mm front end. I believe racetech makes a single rate spring for your bike.
Rooti there's no reason to call racetech unless you want a stock rate .96 kg progressive spring. That's all they make for 49mm.
Thanks, I realize that....just looking into different options...I wish you would finish your bike and write a report because nobodys done it yet on a dyna
