Fuel Gauge Question
Reading through a few threads and it reminded me of something I have been wondering for a while. Why exactly are the HD fuel gauges so unreliable? Is there a legitimate explanation as to why the fuel range and fuel gauge is completely wrong on nearly every single bike?

mine was a little inaccurate, then i put a tank lift on and now both the gauge and counter have no friggin' idea where they are at. I expected it to change, but didn't expect it to change as much as it did.
When my counter says "Lo" and my needle is well in the red, i usually have somewhere between a 1/3 and 1/2 a tank left. So now I guesstimate it, have never run outa gas, yet........
