Well as soon as I got my stageII 103 last year i started noticing The bike was haveing a hard time starting especially when hot. She starts just like the day i bought her now since haveing my fuel filter changed. You will notice teh color of mine, when new the filter's wick is a yellowy white. this is after 37 K miles

Man that looks dirty! I know you said its starting fine, but if you start having trouble again I would look into getting some compression release's.
I will keep that in mind however...
it's About a 1000$ job for those ,installed including removal of heads and drilling & tapping. I was told it wasn't necessary unless I go for even more compression in the future,
Like i said it really made a night and day change with the new filter. I remember a thread a few weeks back on this that I started, for the life of me the search function never found it.
