Glad you're relatively ok. I'm a very laid back guy, but there is nothing that makes me more angry than drivers like that. I guess because it scares the crap out of you and you realize what could have happened at at the expense of an a$$hole who obviously could care less.
No one stopped to check you out.
I though I lived in a bad neighborhood.
Glad your not laid up in a hospital.
Going to my best friends funeral today.
He died from injuries in a bike accident from two weeks ago.
Me and him together, he ran off the road, slid sideways and tumbled over a ledge to granite below.
Ride safe. Wear a helmet.
Really appreciate everyone's kind words. I was in bed until 4:30PM today due to the combo of my throbbing hip and that nauseous feeling over what I've done to my scoot. What pissed me off about nobody stopping is that even though I was back on my feet and lifting it as soon as I realized what happened, nobody swung over to even shout "ya ok?" before driving off again.
I checked out the damage in the daylight and I've got to admit I'm incredibly lucky. The two most severe pieces of damage are to the pipes and the handlebars.
The pipe has road rash on the rear cone, where it got shaved down on the main weld. It's got a nice graze where the lower header meets the big pipe, and then the most frustrating piece...the lower exahust wrap is torn open for about a foot, and the metal there is really torn up...the pics don't do that spot justice. I couldn't find any cracks, but that spot clearly took the brunt of the impact.
The handlebars are bent, but not in a way I could show with a photo...simply put, I catch the right grip a good bit earlier when I throw my hands out in front of me.
The rest is just bad road rash...
The limb of the mirror is mauled from top to bottom, and there's two more scrapes on the mirror frame itself.
The brake pedal lost a lot of skin and is bent inward towards the upper header.
The **** of the right lever is shaved down, but doesn't appear bent.
Scrapes on the right mid-peg, but I think that's it.
I'd love to hear what you guys think about repairing this...especially the pipe. I guess it's time I removed the wrap and went for the heat shields instead.
