Get the pipe high-temp powdercoated. Beats the **** poor finish that is on it from the factory anyway!
I'm new to Wichita, so I'm not even sure there's a place around here that does the high-temp powder coat. Is it commonly done at every powdercoater now? I used a high temp rattle can the first time around because there was not a powder coat considered durable enough to go on headers.

Yeah, hindsight… It happened so fast so all I could think was to avoid the truck.

the only part that I think will take a minute is where I ground the lower header. Like I said earlier, I'd been lucky enough to have never damaged paint so I'm not sure what the right grits are to clean that up.
I've also been in Wichita only a month, so I'll have to look into where the powder coaters are and if they even do high temp.

Ask your local dealer or indies who they use for coating. Or, eat some shipping costs and send the parts to Joe Knapp (JRK) at The Powder Pro, does amazing work and is very active on this forum.
