Has anyone tried the 68129-98DH "headlamp visor kit" (part number is for vivid black - also comes primed 68129-97)? I'm not really a fan of windshields so was hoping this may serve as a bit of a substitue. Although I believe this part is more about the look, was hoping it actually did function ok for some wind deflection? It's small, so not expecting a lot -- but, would be nice to cut some wind with the amount of highway driving I do.
I had that visor, then the ness, and now the OEM quarter fairing. This is actually my second OEM as I sold the first one years ago because I couldn't stand the look. Now I switched back for wind protection and at least is doesn't look like a true windshield.
BUT to answer your original question...the visor was purely for show for me. Even when racing it provided little protection when I tried to tuck down behind it.
Thanks for the feedback ... helps to know what to expect if I do decide to go with it. Now, just need to decide if it's worth it for the look alone ...
I have it right now. It will not function as a full shield, but it definitely did take about 80% of the intense wind blast off my chest area. Mostly for looks, but does have a little bit of function.
Man, it really looks good on both of your bikes! Thanks for the feedback ... taking out some wind blast is better than none ... pretty close to pulling the trigger on this!
