Re-Curve Style Windshields: Any Issues with Thicker Windshields?
It seems that the re-curve style windshields of most aftermarket vendors are marketed as being "thicker" than the OEM shield.
I like the re-curve design and styling, but my concern is that a thicker shield will create a gap between the mating surfaces of the fairing, allowing water and particulate matter to get inside the fairing.
Has anyone with a re-curve style windshield noted this to be an issue? Are there any manufacturers which make a re-curve style windshield in the same thickness as the OEM shield?
have a clearview and a memphis shade, both thicker. the memphis is really thick and you notice as soon as you pick it up but have not had any problems, both seal good.
Just recently put a LRS 9" ultra on my 07 Ultra and do not see a difference in the seal/gap over the OEM sheild. The re curve design is nice with the lower height.
